- 01
Fish at the right time
Dawn and dusk, near structure: fallen trees, rocks, weed edges, and where streams enter lakes.
- 02
Set a trotline
A long line across water with many baited hooks on short drops—fishes for you overnight. Check local laws.
- 03
Find game trails
Look for tracks, droppings and worn runs leading to water or feeding areas.
- 04
Simple snare
A fist-sized wire loop set 3–4 in. above a rabbit run, anchored to a stake. Set many; check daily.
- 05
Clean and cook fully
Gut quickly, keep cool, cook wild game thoroughly. Wear gloves for rabbits (tularemia).
